Thumbs up Perfect Apple Crumble Recipe

This is probably the tastiest apple crumble recipe that i have ever had- not sure whether it was luck or the the recipe. However the video also helped me in terms of presentation, and as it was a Michelin star chef that was more important. Anyway enjoy the recipe below, but it is also available at:

http://www.videojug.com/film/how-to-make-apple-crumble

Serves: 4
Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: 30 minutes
Oven Temperature: 150° c - 300° f

Ingredients

6 Granny Smith apples
250 g white sugar
200 g plain white flour
120 g butter
1 clove or cinnamon stick
1 wooden spoon
1 pan with lid
1 bowl
1 shallow oven proof serving dish

Step 1: Peel the apples

Firstly, peel and core the apples and roughly dice them into chunks.

Step 2: Cook the apples

Put the apple chunks into a pan, add three quarters of the sugar, the cinnamon stick or clove and cover.

Step 3: Stew the apples

Allow to stew gently for half an hour, stirring occasionally with a wooden spoon. Keep checking as they can easily burn at the beginning.

Step 4: Check the apples

Check that the fruit is cooked by mashing it a bit with the wooden spoon. The apples should be soft but not puréed.

Step 5: Allow to cool

Put the apples into the serving dish and allow to cool.

Step 6: Make the crumble

Mix the white flour, remaining sugar and the butter with your fingers in a bowl until it becomes like a breadcrumb consistency.

Step 7: Preheat the oven

Set the temperature of the oven to 150ºC (300ºF/ gas mark 2).

Step 8: Add the crumble topping

Cover the stewed apples with the crumble topping, without pressing down.

Step 9: Cook the crumble

Bake for approximately 30 minutes or until the crumble is golden brown and crunchy.

Step 10: Serve

Spoon a helping of crumble into a dish and serve with cream or ice cream.

Red face Re: Perfect Apple Crumble Recipe

No offense - but that video recipe at videojug looks so sterile. While this is not apple crumble, I did make the best apple pie I've ever had using a recipe from Mom's Apple Pie Company on monkeysee.com at:

http://www.monkeysee.com/play/1295-h...e-an-apple-pie

While I don't use video cooking recipes frequently, I much prefer watching an actual chef cook something good than a bunch of hands.

apple crumb is wayyy better when you have whipped cream on top.. i'd suggest hohttp://www.whipits.org/whipped-cream/me made whipped cream to get better tasting results.. charger and dispensers can be a little pricey but worth it in the long run!

I got a few things at http://www. whip its .org

I think this apple crumble sounds perfect for Thanksgiving. Absolutely decadent for dessert with an aromatic cup of gourmet Kona coffee. I appreciate rich, robust Kona coffee from https://konaluna.com with lowfat desserts and it's much more luxurious than fattening, overprocessed junk food. Stick with pure Kona coffee because the blends usually have only about 10 percent Kona.
