Default How do you make really good smoothies?!


Hi i'm a 15 year old with no cooking experience. My mom just got a blender, and I love really good smoothies so I was wondering how to make them. I was wondering how to make those ridiculously good smoothies that are in resteraunts alot. I mean the really sweet ones, like the strawberry smoothie at outback, or the Strawberry cocofrost at applebees. Whenever I buy smoothies at "drink" places in the mall, the smoothies are not as sweet, cold, or thin. Please reply ingredients to make really sweet smoothies.

It depends on what type of smoothie you want, if you want something with ice cream, I would go with vanilla, your fav fruit, and then some milk. If you want a healthier smoothie, try low fat plain yogurt, some fruits, bananas and strawberries would be good, and then some skim milk. Mix it all in a blender and ta da smoothie. Hope this helps.

There's lots of things you can add to thicken up your smoothie - banana and apple really do the trick well. For sweetness, go for honey as a natural and mineral-rich sweetener!

Be careful not to drink too many smoothies per day - or continuously throughout the day - as they have actually been found to be as harmful for your teeth as soft drinks... There's some more information about the "dentists backlash" here: http://www.foodeu.com/articles/Smoot...+Dentists.aspx

My old roommate used to make a fruit salad, freeze small portions of it in ziploc bags, and then make breakfast smoothies by adding the frozen fruit, a bit of extra ice, and apple juice and blending. It was actually pretty tasty and actually good for you!

Well you have to add a lot of sugar...or you could add honey which is in good health. It will probably give you a glucose prickle when you drink it though and you will most likely be tired shortly afterwards. If you want it cold, add a lot of Ice.…Good Luck!!!
