There are two different questions here. The first is one of taste/preference. Pizza hut, as far as I remember, tends to have reasonably thick doughy bases - something which most Italian pizzas do not have - though there are always exceptions.
The second question is one of authenticity - and for this it should be remembered that Pizza was invented in Napoli in the 1700s, and it's that type of pizza that has been imitated worldwide.
Lots of North Americans reared on Pizza hut are dissapointed by real Italian pizza, because it's not what they expected - but for my money, the combination of a thin base with fresh ingredients cooked in a wood-oven is unbeatable.
