My sister knows I love broccoli rabe and so she emailed me this recipe the other day. For 'disclosure'

purposes it's from a livingthegourmet.blogspot.com, which is a small blog run by a certain chef named "Catherine." Not sure how popular the blog itself is, but the recipe is simply great. Our mother makes it a lot so it has a special place for me.
So here it is ver batum,
2 bunches broccoli rabe (washed and cut about two inches of the thick stem off)
5-6 cloves garlic
½ tsp red pepper flakes
¼ tsp black pepper
½ tsp salt
8 tablespoons olive oil
2 lbs Italian sausage
1 lb spaghetti (linguini or other fine strand macaroni may be used as well)
1 cup water
Heat large frying pan. Place washed broccoli rabe with ½ cup water, cook the broccoli down. Expect the pile to be large, but it will cook down nicely.
Add garlic, red pepper flakes, salt, pepper, and 4 tablespoons olive oil. Cook until broccoli is tender and then add the other half-cup water.
While cooking the broccoli, cook sausage in separate pan until golden but not overdone, cut the sausage into about ½ inch pieces. Add the sausage to the broccoli.
Prepare spaghetti as directed on box.
Place spaghetti in the pan with broccoli and sausage. Add remaining olive oil.
Garnish with some extra red pepper flakes, lemon, and Romano cheese. Enjoy!
Hope you all like the recipe. It's pretty simple, not quite the broccoli rabe my mother makes, but still pretty good.
