I count kilojoules - in a lazy way... I once used a kilojoule counting book, got a general idea of what is in most foods... and over about 6 months I was able to work out how many kilojoules I needed to keep my weight stable... These days I have a light egg "smoothie" for breakfast - 300 ml (a cup) of juice - no sugar, fresh squeezed if possible - usually orange, apple or other sweet fruit; 2 large dollops low fat fruit yoghurt (about 50-100 ml) and 500-700 ml plain water, 1 egg, and a teaspoon of cocao powder... in a blender... YUM!!!
Overall, based on counting the kilojoules on the packs or cartons, it totals about 1000 kilojoules. Loads of protein, and other good nutrients. And no I don't make it with milk simply because I don't like the gaggy effect of loads of dairy. You can make it with variations of milks - rice milk, soy or any other you like. I find it very satisfying and it keeps me going for hours.
Hope this helps someone looking for a handy 'low fat' smoothie style drink with eggs.
