Beware of sugar substitutes

I have found out that these sugar substitutes are not as healthy as they are cracked up to. For instance Splenda, said to be made from sugar was actually discovered when the scientists were looking for a pesticide. It works because the substance doesn't get absorbed by the body. The trouble is that in a percentage of the population, it does bringing health problems. That is not the only one, asparteme and the rest all have health issues associated with them. To find out more put your favourite sweetener into a search engine and go past the pages telling you how wonderful it is and you will get to its dark secret.

I've learnt about artificial sugar substitutes when my mom was diagnosed with diabetes and I read many horrible things about them. In Europe some of them are already banned. There is a natural sugar substitute, very old and very good but the sugar industry won't want you really know about it because they would lose huge amount of money. This one is Stevia. You can already buy it in health food stores and it's really safe, natural and awesome for people with diabetes. Stevia is an herb and you can find lots of info about it, try wikipedia!
