I totally agree that vegetables are the best foods to eat for weight loss. But they're not the only good foods in that regard. Fruit is great too because it's so water-rich, but then again it is full of sugar and especially fructose (we as a society now know about the dangers of fructose thanks to high fructose corn syrup). But if weight loss is your only goal, fruit is supreme. But I've had a lot of success following a
raw food weight loss diet myself; I've written rather extensively about it (and am continuing to do so)
here.
My all-time favorite vegetable for weight loss is kale - it has practically every nutrient you could ever want, plus a very high proportion of protein (as does broccoli), and tons of fiber (but then again, most veggies do). I also love cauliflower; you can chop it up finely in a food processor with some ginger, almonds, lemon juice, salt, and seaweed and make a delicious, way lower calorie rice substitute. It's raw too!
