Default Seaweed

Hi all,

New to this board.

Ok, I just picked up the like green seaweed you normally find on the menu in a Japanese restaurant? Not sure what make it is, but it's not the dry stuff you have to wet.

The expensive one

Besides putting it on a salad, can one use it with cooked food?

I'm not a raw person although I am now including nuts into my diet for more protein.

Thanks

Michelle

Hi, I'm new too I'm not sure which seaweed you got, but look at this page, with some pictures and useful information and suggestions:

Michelle, you can do some interesting things with that healthy seaweed salad. If it doesn't have it already you can add some sesame seeds and spicy sesame oil (just a bit) to give it some kick. I like to slice up some avocado and add that in.

They have this at our local market and unlike the sushi (which is not the best from the market... unless it's Whole Foods which is pretty good) the seaweed salad seems to be on par with anything from a restaurant (although I am not an expert but it at least seems that way to me). I take an extra and freeze it. Great little snack!

I haven't tried any cooked seaweed at all.

Anyway, I just want to share a recipe from my mom. You can eat it fresh by adding lemon juice or calamnsi, pinch of salt or fish sauce and sliced onion. You can also add some pepper to make it a bit spicy.

Tell me if you tried it and how does it taste.

Sea is the main source of our food in present as well as in future. Seaweed is definitely a good recipe than that of other traditional recipes of seafood. I will be surely go for it.

Oh sorry guys, never got the e-mails telling me that there were responses. Hmm, this may mean this forum is on the grey or blacklist.

I'm posting again, so we'll see what happens this time.

Thanks for that, no more seaweed of course

Glad others got some benefit out of it.
