Default Who is a better chef- men or women?

I had a fight with my girlfriend yesterday over who has better cullinary skills- men or women? I firmly believe that men are way better at cooking than women and this can be seen from the fact that restaurants all over the world employ males as chefs. I hope I can garner some support from this forum to prove my girlfriend wrong.

i agree with you that most restaurant chefs are male
but if you ask them how inspired them it ,they will always point to a female like mother, grandmother.
Thanks

Ya I am agree with you that usually we see chefs as male in the restaurants or in the hotels that fact cleared the matter that male are better in cooking than female but they all are inspired by females.

To start I would like to say that to be a chef you really need to do tasty and creative stuff. A salad/sprout bar isnt a place for a "chef" .Some of the nicest things a chef can make are totaly unhealthy.

Well its gonna sound mean at first but listen to the explanation.

Man are the better chef period. At this point in time it would be like saying that a man is more flexible then a woman. It actualy happen but is quite rare.

My reasoning ?

Who was the butcher even back in stone age ?
Who had to work so much in their lives as cook for kings, bar, hotels, etc... It was all man. Usualy the womans were given the servant side of the jobs and not the actual preparing!

We had a lot more of "professional practice" over history to cook tasty food. Womans actualy tended to make more healthy mixes because they cooked/cared for their childrens and husband. They had to keep them healthy.

So to finish I would simply say...

When you think of a dream plate of calories and fun... What do you ppl imagine ? Restaurants or not! Yeah, a man

When you think of that not so tasty but VERY healthy veggy soup.. You think of ? Yeah, thats right a woman

But honestly I think a balance of both would be even better for our lifestyle

According to me, to say a men and a women is a good cook is not good because both have their own capabilities. In my opinion a good cook is someone who can go into a kitchen with bare essentials and come up with a fantastic meal. Not everyone can be born into a family of cooks who can train them from a young age; nor, can everyone afford to attend a culinary school.

I have high admiration for both genders because they have both proven their great style and skills in cooking. We are a family of 6, 2 guys and 4 girls and we all enjoy preparing different kinds of dishes.

Well all the girls in my family do the cooking, but.................Men can too, seeing as some chefs are man ones, but whenever somebody talks about cooking I think of women mainly because of my sister in law who is pretty much the BEST cook in the WORLD!!!!! SHE MAKES EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!EVERYTHING!!!!

I am also one of them who believe that mans are better cook than women. In houses women make the food but man's are better cook than women because they are make everything. I can't remember single hotel or restaurant where women is cook or chief.
