Strawberries seem to spoil very quickly. Here is an old tip my mother taught me... Remove the leaves and stem of the berries. Wash and place them in a colander. Pour BOILING water over the strawberries. This will kill the bacteria that molds the berries. Place the strawberries in a plastic container in the refrigerator. They will last twice as long.

First, clean out you fridge and cupboards of all junk food. Stock up on some fresh and canned fruit. If there's no junk in the house, the only thing left to snack on is the healthy stuff.

Default A few handy tips for dehydrating fruit.

*Always allow your fruit to cool before packing it into an airtight container or ziplock bags.
*when cutting kiwi-fruits use an egg cutter.
*Dehydrated orange peel makes a great firestarter.
* An important thing to remember when drying fruit is what you put in is what you get out.

The term fruit has different meanings dependent on context, and the term is not synonymous in food preparation and biology. In botany, which is the scientific study of plants, fruits are the ripened ovaries of flowering plants.
