Default How can I make my own vegetarian meals if my husband loves meat & my sons are picky e

I want to eat a vegetarian diet (not vegan yet), but my husband loves meat (esp. beef), my two older sons are SUPER picky (autism) and the two younger ones eat whatever, which is fine because they can eat my food. My question is, how the heck am I going to make 4 different meals (at least) at dinnertime so that I can become a healthier, more ethical person? Mealtime is already stressful as it is, I'm afraid to try and fail. I need to do this though because I cannot stand feeling crappy all the time! Thank you!

We got the same problems before. I told them I have to help myself with my highblood so I eat more fruits. Still I can't help eating meat a lot. It's a real problem because it involves self discipline on the food at the front, effort in food preparation and the budget allocated for food.

You can definitely make out a way.
if your husband is a meat lover.
u can add some things which are veg with the main food meat.
just like as you can definitely add veg salad in the menu so that the members of the family should get in habit to eat some vegetables too.
else u can directly figure it out one day in the week. when u cook only veg in the home. for the family.
this thing will hardly create any effect on the food habits of your family.
as well as they guys will start to take out the taste of the vegetables too.
do try this.

You need a great selection of recipes for foods that you can eat, that make great accompaniments to meat such as couscous, or stir fries, or pizzas

First is first, get a book book as there are variety of recipes.

You see, if you was a curry lover, it is the most simplest dish as the curry sauce/gravy is the same for both vegetable and meat curries. You could have done a normal vegetable curry for yourself and the add the meat to the vegetable curry for you husband with only a few vegetables.

Vegetable soup is relatively easy to make. So is thick lentil soup which can be served with rice or pitta/naan. Keep searching, it's not hard. A chef in a takeaway prepares and cooks variety of meals all by himself with the help of an assistant. This is because the gravy/sauce is the same for all dishes.

here's a recipe that can help. it's a vegetarian wrap, but you can easily add meat into the dishes whenever you want.

It isn't easy pleasing everyone is it! I have a similar problem: Veggie husband: teenage son who likes some meat; teenage autistic son with fairly fixed eating habits (who insists on meat) and a veggie daughter. I find the best approach for us is to do two versions of the same meal if I can. For instance if I were making a shepherds pie, I would make one meat version and one veggie version. And me? I just eat whichever there is the most of for the easy life! Good luck - hope you manage to get a satisfactory solution to your problem.
